In order to complete the installation of a flow control valve station at 100 North Hill Dr., a scheduled water shutdown will take place on Tuesday, October 18th from 6:00pm - 8:00pm, so as to have the least impact on the businesses in that area. Moving along with the construction of flow control valve stations at each of the five water turnout locations in town, work will begin next Wednesday at 100 North Hill Dr. as well as 11 San Bruno Ave (at San Francisco Ave.). Below is an image taken at 100 San Francisco St. of the concrete vault, being lowered into the excavated site where it was tied into the newly-constructed interconnection piping. You may recall seeing the orange cones and fencing that were used to keep the construction sites clear and pedestrians safe. Flagmen were also engaged at some of the sites to help direct traffic, and such will be the case at the San Bruno and San Francisco location next week.
Please use caution when driving through both construction areas, 11 San Bruno and 100 North Hill Drive. And once again, thank you for your patience and cooperation as these important construction projects take place in town.
This past Monday, Deputy Fire Chief/Fire Marshal Frank Panacci received a Proclamation from the City Council declaring October 2011 as Fire Prevention Month. In order to help spread awareness about fire safety, Brisbane Firefighters will be visiting local schools over the next two weeks to tell about the many things they as youth can do to improve their fire safety at home and at school. Next Tuesday, firefighters will be visiting Lipman Middle School and on Wednesday, the K-5th graders at BES will get a visit from their local fire department. In the meantime, here are some safety tips that can easily be put into motion:
The theme for Fire Prevention Month this year is "Protect Your Family From Fire". May you take the steps to do exactly that this month, so that you and your family can stay safer from fire during Fire Prevention Month and year-round.
