As a tight-knit community of about 3,500 people, Brisbane is a great place to raise children. The community is committed to excellence in education for children of all ages.

The City is active in encouraging schooling.  At the preschool level, there is a preschool that the City's Parks and Recreation Department manages.  It's located in Brisbane Elementary School.  Additionally, Silverspot Cooperative Nursery School is in a City-owned building with a public playground, known as the Silverspot Tot Lot.

The Brisbane School District governs three schools: two elementary schools and one middle school. Brisbane Elementary and Lipman Middle School are located in Brisbane; Panorama Elementary is in Daly City.  Contact Superintendent Ronan Collver in the District Office at (415) 467-0550 for more information.

At the high school level, Brisbane School District students are eligible to attend schools in the Jefferson Union High School District.  Residents have expressed interest in establishing a high school within the City, and planning for the Baylands has included discussions about a possible high school.  Summit Public School's Shasta Charter High is a 9-12 school and serves students in the Jefferson Union High School District.
