Brisbane Library began service at its present location in 1981 and offers a vibrant space for the entire community. People of all ages enjoy our books, magazines, ebooks, CDs, DVDs, WiFi, classes, and programs - all for free. To support local interests, we are proud to offer a small local history collection. For more local history, explore the City's extensive collection at City Hall.

Enjoy the friendly bustle of our active weekday afternoons or our more soothing evening and weekend hours. Our small size does not inhibit us from offering a full roster of activities and services for you and your family - please check our calendar to make sure you don't miss something exciting! What may be most exciting is the fact that the Brisbane community will have a new Library, coming Fall 2019!  Want to reserve a tile or see your name on the donor wall that will be featured at the New Brisbane Library?  Then fill out the donor form and return it to the Brisbane Library today!

It is our mission to strengthen our community by creating an inclusive sense of place and an environment for learning. Stop by to pick up your updated library card, grab a fun giveaway, sign up for a class, or browse our shelves for something new to explore. The San Mateo County Libraries are Open for Exploration! And, as of January 6, 2019, are fine-free!

Discover & Go

A first of its kind, Discover & Go provides access to museum passes, such as the Asian Art Museum, that can be printed online rather than traditional physical passes that must be picked up and returned to the library.  As a Library cardholder, you have access to numerous museums and cultural institutions throughout the Bay Area.  Click here for more information.
