On April 28, 2018 at 2:06 p.m., 8 Fire Companies, 3 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a vegetation fire at 180 West Hill Place in the City of Brisbane.

The first arriving fire companies found smoke and flames coming from two separate vegetation fires that were burning on a hillside behind warehouses at both 100 West Hill Drive and 180 West Hill Place.  Fire companies used hose lines to contain the fires, which burned a total of approximately one acre of land.

Fire companies remained on scene for approximately 2 hours checking for fire extension, completing overhaul and mop up operations. No structures were threatened and there were no injuries to any of the firefighters.

The cause of the fire was due to power lines and is under investigation by the North County Fire Prevention Services Bureau and other agencies.

The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of cutting and removing all dry grass and flammable vegetation around their homes and businesses.
