2/21 Structure Fire at 50 Visitacion

On February 21, 2019 at 5:34 p.m.,10 Fire Companies, 4 Chief Officers, 1 Breathing Support Unit, 1 Fire Information Officer and 2 Fire Investigators responded to a report of a commercial building structure fire at 50 Visitation Avenue in the City of Brisbane.

The first arriving fire company reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the windows of the second floor of a commercial building. Using fire attack hose lines, firefighters made entry and worked their way up to the second floor of the commercial building performing search and rescue operations, while working to combat the flames. The fire was confined to the second floor of the commercial structure with no extension to adjoining properties or buildings. There were no occupants found in the building and there were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. 

Fire companies remained on scene for over 3 hours checking for further extension of the fire and completing salvage and overhaul operations. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Prevention Services Bureau. 

The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors their homes.
