New Fire Vehicle for Brisbane

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

Last night before the City Council meeting, the Council and public in attendance got a first-hand look at Brisbane's new type 6 wildland fire vehicle.  This vehicle was acquired for its ability to traverse the hilly and tight upper streets of Brisbane and the hilly wildland terrain; it was built to be used in a wildland urban environment.  Unlike a normal fire engine, the type 6 has the ability to "pump and roll" and has the capacity to carry 350 gallons of water.  It is the first of its kind in San Mateo County, and we expect its aid and deployment to other parts of the region if needed.  For now, it will join Engine 81 at the Brisbane Fire Department.  Check out this video which was taken during last night's unveiling to learn more about Brisbane's new wildland type 6 vehicle.
