On Wednesday, April 18th, the Brisbane Police Department along with officers from various law enforcement agencies throughout San Mateo County will be participating in the San Mateo County Saturation Traffic Enforcement Program (S.T.E.P.).  The STEP program is a county collaboration to increase traffic safety and awareness in known trouble spots throughout San Mateo County.

Due to the number of continued complaints raised by residents of excessive speed violations on Bayshore Boulevard, S.T.E.P will conduct a Saturation Traffic Enforcement operation in our city.  Their focus will be on excessive speed violators and other traffic violations including cell phone use, seat belts and other dangerous violations.  Officers will be stopping vehicles as well as motorcycles and bicyclists.

The San Mateo County Police Chiefs and Sheriff Association are working together to collectively focus on reducing the number of injuries and traffic collisions throughout San Mateo County.

The agencies you may see participating with Brisbane PD include Belmont PD, San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, California Highway Patrol, Burlingame PD, Colma PD, Daly City PD, East Palo Alto PD, Menlo Park PD, Foster City PD, Pacifica PD, Redwood City PD, San Bruno PD, San Mateo PD, San Mateo County Public Safety Communications, and South San Francisco Police.
