Staff Report | Appeal Document | Report from the Planning Commission | Opus Center Sierra Point Design Submittal | Tentative Parcel Map | Supplemental Design Submittal
(On February 26, 2009, the Planning Commission, by unanimous vote, approved the project described above. The Commission’s decision was reached after extensive discussions over several meetings. This development would increase property value, possibly accommodate revenue-generating users, and at the City’s discretion provide $360,000 for a city-sponsored alternative energy generation project. Further development of Sierra Point in consistent with the City’s General Plan and the Sierra Point Design Guidelines. Two members of the City Council appealed the decision of the Planning Commission so that the Council would have the opportunity to review concerns raised by the public. Staff is recommending that Council deny the appeal and uphold the decision of the Planning Commission.)
IX. OLD BUSINESS
A. Consider approval of the proposed planting plan for San Mateo Lane
(Council recently considered a planting plan for San Mateo Lane. Members of the public were concerned about the selection of non-native plant materials in the proposed plan. Council asked staff to seek input from the California Native Plant Society (CNPS) and concerned citizens regarding what trees would be appropriate for the site and bring a revised plan back to Council. Staff contacted CNPS and gathered input from concerned citizens. The plan to be considered at this meeting is a result of that effort.)
