Election Yard Signs are Not Recyclable
Printer-friendly versionNow that Election Day has passed, you may be wondering where to dispose of any yard signs you may have. The corrugated plastic signs are unfortunately NOT recyclable so please put them in your trash/landfill carts. The H-wire stands can easily be reused, and we're sure some out there will have creative reuse projects for the signs as well. Thanks in advance for helping keep contamination of our recycling stream to a minimum!

Text to 9-1-1
Printer-friendly versionYou can now text to 9-1-1 in an emergency. While we always want you to call 9-1-1, in those instances when you’re unable to call, you can send a text to the 9-1-1 center. This new service allows people who are unable to speak to reach 9-1-1 and request emergency services. This might include those who are deaf or hard of hearing, unable to speak, or in a situation where it’s unsafe to speak. To text to 911, enter the numbers “911” in the “To” or “Recipient” field. The text should be short, include the location of the emergency, and ask for police, fire or ambulance. Answer questions and follow instructions from the 9-1-1 call-taker. The location information accompanying a Text-to-9-1-1 call is not equal to wireless voice call location technology.
Put Your Mark on the New Brisbane Library's Donor Wall
Printer-friendly versionThe official donor form was recently released and made its debut at the October 18, 2018 City Council Meeting. Friends of the Brisbane Library (FOBL) Co-President Wendy Towle walked the City Council through the various donor levels and also talked about how FOBL is currently doing a call for artwork for the donor wall (deadline for artwork submissions is January 6, 2019). See below for more information, both images can be clicked to enlarge. Reserve your spot on the donor wall today and drop off your form to the Library, or you can donate online here (you will still need to fill out a form so FOBL can receive your desired inscription). Business License Renewal Season Approaching
Printer-friendly versionThe City’s Finance Dept. wants to remind anyone transacting or carrying on any business within Brisbane city limits that the 2019 Business License Renewal season is fast-approaching. If you have a current business license on file with MuniServices, which the City has partnered with for Business License administration, you should be receiving information about license renewal in late November. There will be instructions of how to renew online at: https://brisbane.bizlicenseonline.com.
