This resolution supports the City's participation in the FOCUS Program, a voluntary effort sponsored by the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) and Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) to address climate change, transportation, urban sprawl, housing and related issues on a regional basis. The FOCUS Program involves identifying sites near transit which present significant opportunities to promote transit usage, thereby reducing vehicle miles traveled and related greenhouse gas emissions. Such sites are designated by ABAG as Priority Development Areas (PDAs), and regional funding opportunities related to transit planning, design, and capital improvements are targeted specifically for PDAs. It is requested that Brisbane apply to ABAG to add the Baylands Specific Plan area to an existing PDA encompassing Schlage Lock, Vistiacion Valley and Executive Park within the City of San Francisco.
