            A.     Consider adoption of Ordinance 501, waiving second reading, amending the Municipal Code by repealing Chapter 6.20 concerning commercial kennels; adding Section 17.02.615 to define “Pet Care Services;” amending Section 17.02.745 concerning “Storage;” adding Section 17.02.766 to define “Transit/Transportation Facilities;” adding Section 17.02.768 to define “Trucking and Transport Uses;” amending Section 17.02.790 concerning “Warehousing;” repealing Section 17.02.800 concerning “Wholesale;” amending Section 17.04.010 concerning establishment of districts; repealing Chapter 17.20 concerning the Manufacturing District and adopting a new Chapter 17.20 concerning the Southeast Bayshore Trade Commercial District; adding Chapter 17.21 concerning the Northeast Bayshore Trade Commercial District; and amending the Zoning Map (Continued from September 19, 2005)

                     (This Ordinance has been before the Council for consideration at several meetings.  At the last meeting Council asked staff to come up with alternative language pertaining to the use of live animals for research and development.  The staff report gives alternatives for Council consideration.)

VII.     NEW BUSINESS

    *      A.     Referendum Petition on the adoption of Ordinance 505, approving a development agreement for Assessor’s Parcel Numbers 007-350-040 – 007-350-090; Charles and Judy Ng, applicants for proposed 30-unit residential complex upon the property located at 3710-3760 Bayshore Boulevard

                     1.   Accept City Attorney’s report on City Council options in response to petition and effects of those options and provide direction to staff

                     2.   Accept certification of above referenced petition and if election option is chosen, provide direction to staff to bring back resolutions calling election for chosen date
