At last night's City Council Meeting, the Council voted unanimously to direct staff to revise the City's Marina Regulations found in the Municipal Code [1] to allow for live aboards. Boat owners are currently not allowed to rent out their boats for short-term rentals, and such will continue to be prohibited in the revised regulations. It is thought that having live aboards or 24/7 living at the Marina will further recreational boating by providing enhanced security. A public hearing will be scheduled at a later date to establish a "Live Aboard License Fee".
