Brisbane’s Streets Alive event will take place on Sunday, May 1, 2011 from 10am to 2pm on Visitacion Ave. between Old County Road and Mariposa Ave.  As part of San Mateo County’s Streets Alive program, this event encourages citizens to get out and enjoy physical activities in areas that are not usually used for such activities.  People of all ages and physical abilities are invited to join in on guided hikes, yoga and fitness demonstrations and various other fun and healthy activities.  Below are what will be happening between the hours of 10am and 2pm on Visitacion Ave. in Brisbane:

Plan Bay Area, one of our region's most comprehensive planning efforts to date, is set on planning for future growth that enhances the economy, environment, and social equity, and our communities' livability.  It is led by the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission in partnership with the Bay Area's other two regional government agencies, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, and the Bay Conservation Development Commission.

The agencies will be hosting a Plan Bay Area/YouChoose Bay Area workshop in each of the 9 Bay Area counties.  The San Mateo County workshop will be taking place Wednesday, April 27th from 5:30pm - 8:30pm at the San Mateo Public Library (55 West 3rd Street, San Mateo).  Participants will use a fun, interactive web-based simulation to outline priorities, consider different growth options, and see future consequences.  Space is limited.  Early registration is encouraged.  Refreshments will be provided.  RSVP at www.OneBayArea.org/workshops or (510) 817-5831.  Please leave your name, address, phone number and e-mail, and let them know you want to attend the workshop for San Mateo County.
