A. Report from Economic Development Workshop
(The Council will review the documents generated from the November 3rd Economic Development Workshop and provide direction to the Economic Development Subcommittee.)
VIII. NEW BUSINESS
A. Consider approval of a City of Brisbane Social Media Policy
(To address the fast-changing landscape of the Internet and the way the public communicates and obtains information online, the City is using social media websites to better inform and engage with the community on key issues, news, and events. A policy is being considered to guide this use.)
B. Consider recommendation of the Complete Streets Safety Committee’s Plan regarding Safe Pedestrian Routes to Schools
(The Complete Streets Safety Committee has completed their study of potential safe pedestrian routes to school as requested by Council and is now submitting a plan for review.)
C. Consider authorizing staff to work with Public Agency Retirement System (PARS) to develop a funding mechanism for the City’s Other Post-Employment Benefits (OPEB)
(The Council Finance Subcommittee is recommending that the Council direct staff to work with PARS to develop an OPEB Trust which uses the moderate investment strategy for investments and bring back the appropriate staff reports and resolutions to enact this policy.)
D. Consider adoption of Resolution No. 2014-48 amending Resolution No. 2001-11 to include the classification of Recreation Manager in the class specification manual; and adoption of Resolution No. 2014-49 amending resolution 2013-45, the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Brisbane and the Mid-Management/Professional Employees Group, by adding the classification of Recreation Manager
(The Council will consider adding a new position “Recreation Manager” to ensure the City is able to meet the needs of the community with the appropriate staff resources.)
E. Consider adoption of Ordinance No. 593 repealing Section 2.20.020 – “Members not to hold other offices” of the Brisbane Municipal
(The Council will consider repealing a Section of the Municipal Code prohibiting Parks and Recreation Commission members from holding other offices.)
