(The purpose of this item is to obtain Council’s initial approval for adopting a ne Chapter to the Brisbane Municipal Code that will generally ban the free distribution of single-use plastic bags by retail businesses.)
VIII. OLD BUSINESS
(The purpose of this item is to take a necessary action to fill the vacancy of the Council seat created by Sepi Richardson’s resignation due to retirement and to call the general election for three seats in November, 2013 as usual. Sepi’s seat would have expired in November, 2013, so there will only be the normal three seats to be elected.)
